"People Are Sleeping On Shanghai …" (Black in China) | MFiles – Shanghai Video

published: 2019-05-15 01:46:02

In this episode of The Melanated Files (MFiles) we introduce Redic, an American multi-disciplinary artist living in Shanghai, China. Redic has been living in China for nine years as a black artist. We visited Redic at his home in Shanghai, which he had turned into a temporary art house, unlike anything that we’ve seen before. In addition to giving us a tour of his unique and masterfully decorated home, Redic shared his experiences, inspirations and ambitions with us. Watch to hear his story.

  9. Holy shit. I love this channel.

All of the videos are inspiring and just make me feel better about my species.

One thing about living in China as I have for the past three years, is that this country can really make you feel depressed about humanity. The negative effects of the pollution, censorship, and the disregard, even contempt, for the natural world makes me feel angry or depressed about the effects of myself and our fellow humans.

The people featured on this channel just seem positive, resilient, creative, intelligent, and kind. It forces me to try to amplify that in myself and not fall into a rut of resentment and ambivalence.
